San Luigi

Certainly the area best known and suited for wine production in all of Dogliani and is also one of the most fascinating corners of the Langa with its stunning scenery. It is found at the boundary of the community of Monforte at a height of 350 to 370 mts above sea level.

The Einaudi family have owned the “Abbene” farmhouse with the surrounding vineyards since the beginning of the last century. The vineyards cover some 8.20 hectares mainly with plants of Dolcetto and a minor number of Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio.

This small plot of land appears as the ideal place for the cultivation of vines, with a long hillside which looks to the South, seemingly created solely for this purpose.

Here is produced some of the best Dolcetto, an opulent Barbera and part of the blend for the Langhe Rosso L. Einaudi.
